Starting over can be the most frightening challenge a person ever faces. Waking up to find that life as you know it no longer exists or realizing an image of your future life has been erased.

At one time or another, we all have had to pick up the pieces and face an uncertain future.

WRITING EXERCISE:

Free write for 15 minutes about a time in your life when the earth shook, when you were in a position where something you relied on changed dramatically. This can be separation from a loved one, losing your job or realizing your life no longer works for you. Did you ever think you were going to get through it? How did you get through it?

If you are going through this situation now, write about how this makes you feel. Do you feel out of control? What can you control? How can you get out of this? What is the first step you need to take?
